Who are we?

BKS électronique

The company is located in southeast France just outside Grenoble. It was founded in 1984 by three engineers from the Hewlett-Packard factory located a few kilometers away. For many years BKS designed and manufactured special and custom products for HP customers, including sealed keyboards and enclosures for HP terminals and systems. In 1991 HP abandoned its data collection product line and transfered the manufacturing and marketing rights to BKS. With this move our company acquired an international customer base including virtually every major corporation world-wide in electronics, aeronautics, automotive, pharmaceutical, defense, and food industries. We are proud to have served these demanding customers with the high level of quality, service and support they had come to expect of the Hewlett Packard Company.

With the transformation of the computer business in the early 90's, our company was forced to rethink its product strategy and started orienting itself towards Time Reporting and Access Control equipment. Today, our sole business is Time Reporting, with a focus on small-scale applications that replace the traditional punch card time clocks.

We work closely with local subcontractors for manufacturing and engineering, and manage all critical components ourselves. The company has no debt, substantial cash reserves and owns the building it occupies, part of which is rented out to other organisations.
